Tegiwa Skunk2 Camshaft Showdown V2

The power quest for Tegiwa's EK Time Attack car continues!...

Tegiwa is at it again: Making more power for their project EK Civic Hatchback Time Attack car.

Previously, Tegiwa did a Camshaft Showdown and compared 5 different sets of "drop-in" cams including two stock cam tests, two of our competitors, and one set of our Skunk2 K20 Drop-In Camshafts. Our drop-in cams took the win, producing the most power gains of all tested camshafts (who knew? wink, wink!).

In the quest for more power, the team over at Tegiwa swap in a set of Skunk2 K Series Ultra Stage 1 Camshafts, Skunk2 Pro XP Valve springs, and Skunk2 Titanium Retainers. Note that for these cams, springs and retainer upgrades are necessary.

Mike leads the way through the video explaining a bit about the process while Jim completes the installation and, eventually, the car is handed off once again to Jesse for tuning. Final numbers round out to a total of 10 horsepower gained from upgrading to the Ultra 1 Camshafts versus the drop-in cams, with power gains all throughout the rev range.

Tegiwa does a great job presenting the data visually in their video but also has a side-by-side write up about their process which you can read by clicking here!
